01 / First steps

Take control.

  1. Choose a mode. Each of the four modes gives your tornado a different objective.
  2. Read the objective on the HUD. Check the relevant timer, counters, and loss conditions before rushing in.
  3. Get comfortable moving. Steer your tornado, try surge and burst, and adjust the camera zoom.
  4. Collect with care. Bonuses can help your run, while penalties and enemy storms can put it at risk.
  5. Play the objective. More destruction is useful in some modes and costly in others.

Normal Burst costs 35 energy and has an eight-second cooldown. Surge drains energy while held; releasing it lets energy recover. In Fire Patrol, Burst instead requires a full water load and releases it to fight fires.

Controller button names use Xbox / PlayStation labels for equivalent positions. In Options, navigate with the D-pad or left stick and confirm with A/Cross. On the sound-effects slider, use D-pad left/right to adjust volume. For seed entry, use D-pad up/down to change the digit, right to add a digit, left to delete, A/Cross to apply, and B/Circle to cancel. You can also type the seed with the keyboard.

03 / Choose your objective

Four ways to rampage.

Endless Supply

Destroy buildings, scoop up supplies, and keep your tornado from dissipating. The countryside keeps replenishing. Your job is to keep the rampage going.

Objective: Destroy. Replenish. Repeat.

An endless chase for a bigger score.

Blackout

Destroy the required buildings and knock out the power circuits before the eight-minute timer expires. Clear the grid to advance with your score intact.

Objective: Clear the grid. Beat the clock.

Your score carries into the next round.

Cow Lift

Lift as many cows as you can while sparing the farmhouses. A delicate balance between a spectacular score and a little too much property damage.

Objective: Lift the livestock. Spare the farmhouses.

Five-minute runs. Ten farmhouse losses end the run; earned Free Barn pickups can reduce losses.

Fire Patrol

Collect water from towers and water bodies, then burst to douse smoking and burning farmhouses. Reach them before the flames do too much damage.

Objective: Collect water. Put out the fires.

No countdown. Ten burned farmhouses end the run; earned Free Barn pickups can reduce losses.

04 / Read the situation

Scores, meters & maps.

The HUD displays your current mode and score, along with the objective and counters relevant to your run. Watch the best-score display, chain multiplier, and the map as you play.

  • Score bonuses: point pickups add to your score; some penalties subtract points.
  • Multipliers: use temporary score multipliers to increase the points you earn.
  • Mode counters: monitor circuits and the clock in Blackout, farmhouse losses in Cow Lift, and water and fire counters in Fire Patrol.
  • Ability status: check cooldown and resource indicators before relying on another burst.

Use the replay and remix shortcuts shown in the HUD when you want another run.
